Comments on the 2010 Annual Meeting


Share Advantage Credit Union held its 83rd Annual Meeting on March 23rd, 2010. The meeting gave the members the opportunity to learn about the credit union's performance for 2009, to learn of the plans for 2010, to elect board members (pictured above) and to ask any questions they had. This year Diana Machones (who is celebrating 25 years as a board volunteer!), John Arnold III, and Scott Nigon were reelected for additional 3 year terms. Board Chairperson, Mildred Williams, noted that, " Each Director (Board Member) brings their support of the Credit Union's philosophy and business background to the board. SACU operates under the leadership of CEO Knut Hovde and CFO Kellee Lueck. This able leadership team continues to guide SACU with remarkable management, technical skills and unique sensitivity to the member's needs."

The fight against hunger is a constant battle. In October of 2009 SACU held a bake sale and BBQ in efforts to raise money for Second Harvest Food Bank, and with the help of our generous membership we were able to raise over $500. With March being National Food Share Month, SACU decided to utilize the Annual Meeting as yet another way in which to continue the fight. Once again, our members came through and donated another $120 and over 50 pounds of food to the Food Bank. Shaye Moris (pictured), executuve director of Second Harvest, explained that every dollar received by the Food Bank is then converted into $10 worth of food. Although there is still much to be done the SACU family is making a difference.

We wish to thank all of the members who took time from their schedules to attend the meeting. We would also like to thank the many businesses and organizations that donated prizes to the raffle. It is the teamwork displayed between the staff, volunteers and strategic partners, and you the member that help to make Share Advantage Credit Union second to none in the Twin Ports.
